The Lionel 6-31960 Polar Express O Gauge Steam Engine Train Set is a starter set that includes a 3 passenger cars, locomotive, and tender. Although this item was new on the shelf and has never been run (except for testing prior to listing) the packaging was in rough shape and was thrown away. The track and manual, and anything else that might have been packed on the backside of the Styrofoam are lost but everything else in the pictures are included, including the transformer, people, Christmas Ornament etc. A little dusty from sitting on the shelf but otherwise in perfect working order. A great find at a drastically reduced price. A little about me. I will be listing the contents of my collection in the coming weeks so please check back often to see what other items are for sale. My collection consists of hundreds of Lionel, MTH, and K-Line post war items (mostly used, but some new in box) as well as hundreds of modern (mostly new in original boxes, and some used). 2004 Lionel O Gauge Polar Express Train Set 6-31960 Diecast Locomotive. Set includes a black locomotive, 3-passenger cars, track, transformer and a coal car. The power type is AC, and the control system is analog. Don’t know if the smoke works. Don’t have any’smoke liquid’ to go in stack. So, I’m gonna say it doesn’t work. If you can get it to work- great. Looked in box and the’Santa bell’ was no where to be found. Train whistle works awesome. On the transformer there’s 3 buttons. 1-whistle, 2-smoke 3- Santas bell. Locomotive works from very fast to slow, works with the lever on transformer. Extra lights, 4 figures, manual. Please look at all my photos as they are part of my description. Train set is in like new condition (almost looks new). You will receive all train pieces that are show in my photos. As you can see, I set it up to show everything that’s there and it works flawlessly. This makes only the 2nd time set up. Box is worn in some places because of storage. But all the boxes that hold the cars look new. The Box is Really Heavy because of the transformer, metal trains and track. Also may be missing the whistle on the engine but not sure. It is not shown on box illustration. Most other listings for this item do not have/show it, but a few do. Not new, used item may/will show signs of use/age. No other items included, just what is shown. (track is included but not shown, under packaging in bottom of box).

This is a used train set in good working condition. Train has been ran and displayed. The train does run in forward and reverse. The lights work on engine and passenger cars. Whistle sound works, could not get the bell to work. Train box looks like it was exposed to moisture. Train runs better in reverse than forward. Some of the track has corrosion in several spots.
